Tangled Yarns & Laughing Loops: The Real Story of Our Crochet Classes….
Let’s be honest—when you think of crochet, you might imagine a peaceful scene with someone gently stitching away, sipping herbal tea, and radiating calm. Sounds lovely, doesn’t it?
Well, our crochet classes have had some of that. The tea, yes. The calm… depends on the row.
Crochet, as it turns out, is part craft, part puzzle, and part emotional rollercoaster. There have been a few tears (some of them even from the yarn tangling itself in protest), but more often than not, it’s been laughter echoing around the room as someone realises they’ve accidentally crocheted their project to their jumper, again.
We’ve had brand-new beginners who didn’t know a hook from a hairpin, and seasoned stitchers looking to add new techniques to their repertoire. And somewhere between the “magic ring” (which is anything but magical when you're first trying it) and the final flourish of a granny square, something lovely has happened: friendship.
Our classes have become more than just crochet—they’re a space for creativity, connection, and a bit of collective chaos. We've swapped stories, shared biscuits, and helped each other unpick more mistakes than we can count (and that’s not even counting the rows we had to frog… again).
Take a peek at some of the highlights in the videos below— there was even a victory dance after finally mastering the treble crochet.
If you've been toying with the idea of picking up a hook, or just fancy an afternoon of fun and making something with your hands (and maybe making a few new pals along the way), we’d love to have you join us.
Come for the crochet, stay for the community. And don't worry—if all else fails, there's always tea and cake.
